Magilumic Orbs Guide

Magilumic Orbs are a resource that can be used in The DioField Chronicle to summon powerful mystical beasts onto the battlefield for a short period of time to help battle enemies that you are struggling to defeat. In total there are five Magilumic Orbs in the game and each offer unique actions that can quickly turn the tide of a battle. Bahamut

How to Unlock:

- Unlocked at the start (default Magliumic Orb).

Effect:

- Deals damage to all units in the targeted area.

Cost:

- 1 TP – 1,000 Power

Goldhorne

How to Unlock:

- Reward for completing Chapter 1: 'Coswell Volcano' and 'The Chains that Bind' missions.

Effect:

Restores HP and EP of all allied units in the targeted area.

Cost:

- 2 TP

Fenrir

How to Unlock:

- Unlocked in Chapter 2: 'Harbinger of Discord' mission.

Effect:

- Deals damage and inflicts freeze to all units in the targeted area.

Cost:

- 1 TP – 800 Power

Salamander

How to Unlock:

- Reward for completing Chapter 3: 'Escort the Priests' mission.

Effect:

- Gives might to all allied units in the targeted area.

Cost:

- 1 TP

Coeurl

How to Unlock:

Reward for completing Chapter 4: 'Fond Frontier' and 'Survey for Jade' missions

Effect:

- Deals damage and inflicts weakness to all units in the targeted area while also applying the Weakness debuff, decreasing their damage output by 50 percent.

Cost:

- 2 TP – 1,200 Power

Ouroboros

How to Unlock:

- Reward after completing Chapter 6: 'Mockery of an Alliance'.

Effect:

- Deals damage to all units in targeted area and restores hp to allied units.

Cost:

- 3 TP

How to Upgrade Magilumic Orbs

In order to upgrade Magilumic Orbs in The DioField Chronicles to further increase their capabilities you first need to speak with Iscarion. You will then need to go to the Institute and talk to the Researcher there who will tell you the requirements. This will basically involve obtaining lots of Gold and Jade Crystals and clearing several sub-quests and the prerequisites required to access them. To begin Engraving (upgrading) your Megilumic Orbs you will need to reach Research Rank 2 and to unlock subsequent Engraving options you will need to reach Research Rank 4. Below are the Magiclumic Orb Research sub-quests, their prerequisites, and their rewards.

Chain of Captivity (Main Quest)

Prerequisites:

- Reach Chapter 1

- Clear 'Nobleman is Coming' (Main Quest)

Rewards:

- Magilumic Orb Research Rank 1

- +1 TP

Request: Additional Funds

Prerequisites:

- Reach Chapter 2

- Clear 'Harbinger of Discord' (Main Quest)

Rewards:

- Magilumic Orb Research Rank 2

- Engraving is unlocked for Magilumic Orb Research

Urgent: Funds Depleted

Prerequisites:

- Reach Chapter 3

- Clear 'Defend Teggaria Base' (Main Quest)

Rewards:

- Magilumic Orb Research Rank 3

- +1 TP

Emergency: Stolen Funds

Prerequisites:

- Clear 'Recapture Teggaria' (Main Quest)

- Reach Chapter 4

Rewards:

- Magilumic Orb Research Rank 4

- Engraving is unlocked for Magilumic Orb Research

Appeal: Last Push for Funds

Prerequisites:

- Reach Chapter 5

- Clear 'A Patriotic Future' (Main Quest)

Rewards:

- Magilumic Orb Research Rank 5

- +1 TP

There are a total of eight upgrades for each of the five Magilumic Orbs in The DioField Chronicle which means you will need to accumulate a lot of Gold and Jade Crystals in order to max out all of them entirely.
