How to get the Grappling Hook

The Grappling Hook is the first upgrade you can find in Salt and Sacrifice and in terms of exploration is the most useful. You will be able to get your hands on this Inquisitor tool within the first hour of starting the game providing you meet the requirement which is to defeat Uryks Necklace-of-Ears who is the first boss you encounter. It is important that you obtain the Grappling Hook because without it you will not be able to advance the game.

Where to Find Uryks Necklace-of-Ears

To find this boss you must head to Ashbourne Village using the portal in the camp. From there, you need to head left and take the bottom pathway to enter a cave. Once inside the cave you need to drop down to the bottom of it and take the path to the right. If you continue following the path you will eventually encounter Uryks Necklace-of-Ears who you will need to defeat to progress further.

How to Defeat Uryks Necklace-of-Ears

Defeating Uryks Necklace-of-Ears is not difficult providing you are patient. This towering brute has some basic attacks which can be easily rolled through in both the first and second stages. All you need to do to defeat this boss is roll through his swings to get behind him, then use two light attacks and repeat until the boss has been defeated.

Where to Find the Grappling Hook

Once you have defeated Uryks Necklace-of-Ears you need to continue heading to your right, so you head down into the cave. You will eventually find the Grappling Hook at the bottom of the cave near a corpse of a long dead Inquisitor. The Grappling Hook can then be used on the ledges above to swing back up to the top of the cave. When you exit the cave you should return to the part of the map where you arrived and use the Grappling Hook to explore new areas.
