How to Farm Mages

When mages are slain they drop important materials that allow you to craft a variety of equipment, this means knowing how to farm them in Salt and Sacrifice is essential if you want to get special crafting materials over and over. This How to Farm Mages guide will tell you how you can continue hunting them for the rewards they drop.

It is unlikely that killing a mage once will generate enough material to create all the gear that you are interested in so in order to get more you need to dispatch the enemy several times. You will find hunting mages you have already slain harder than before. When you complete a Mage Hunt for the first time you will gain the ability to dispatch the foe again, in order to do so you need to locate the enemy in the wild after traveling to Pardoner's Vale and returning to the level. If you then search the vicinity of the location where you found the mage during the initial hunt they will randomly reappear somewhere at that location.

Keep in mind when you battle the mage, they will not have a visible health bar like previously which means you will have to guess the amount of health your foe has. Also, when the mage has taken a certain amount of damage they will teleport to a random nearby location. If you watch the orb of white light when the mage teleports you will be able to follow its general direction. Once you find the mage again you need to continue attacking it until you have killed, and you are rewarded with the crafting materials it drops. If at this point you return to Pardoner's Vale you will reset everything and be able to repeat the process. The mages do not get more powerful which makes this an effective method to farm mages as they become easier and easier as you level up and increase your power.
