In Remnant: From the Ashes there is danger everywhere, every inhabitant you encounter will be looking to take you down so it is crucial that you make the right decision when you are presented a choice from three classes. The most important things you need to take into consideraton when you initially choose a class is the weapons and gears you will be able to equip your character and the traits they will be able to obtain.

The Scrapper Archetype

If close-range melee fighting is your thing then The Scrapper Archetype is probably for you. The Scrapper's melee damage is boosted by the Warrior trait that is applied to this character class by default. If you are new to the game it is recommended that you start of with this character as they are easy to use and you will be able to get immediate results using their heavy-hitting Scrap Hammer.

The Cultist Archetype

If you are a team player who likes to play a support type role in role-playing survival action games then the Ex-Cultist Archetype will probably be the class that suits you. This character class excels in mid-range combat using the Coachgun and Repeater Pistol and although not as strong as The Scrapper is also competant at melee fighting where she will bury her Scrap Hatchet deep into the flesh of her enemies. Her support role derives from the Menders Aura mod which is able to restore the health of teammates within a certain radius. This health regeneration process is gradual and is only applied whilst inside the circle of the mod's radius. The Ex-Cultist’s starting trait, Spirit, allows her to increase the rate of regeneration of her weapon mods.

The Hunter Archetype

If you are a player who prefers to attack from range undercover of shadows and employ stealth to move around unnoticed then The Hunter Archetype is your class. This is the only character that is able to attack from far away and does so using a Hunting Rifle that is accurate and precise. The Hunter comes equipped with the Hunter's Mask mod which enables them to see targets through walls or any obstacles in a 40-meter radius for a duration of 20 seconds. While these targets are marked any damage they sustain will increase Criticle Hit chance by 100% which for most of the enemies you will encounter in Remnant: From the Ashes will mean instant death.
