Chapter 08 - Abandoned Factory

Join up with Pascal at the entrance of the Abandoned Factory (the access point should be active if you've done sidequests here previously), and go inside to meet with a group of religious machines. Ending J will be unlocked if you destroy the priest here. Anyway, follow the machine to the elevator which should connect to their leader's chamber. It doesn't take long for the supposed peace talks to turn ugly, leaving you trapped in a room full of hostile cult followers. Fight until the elevator at the other side of the room unlocks so you can make a run for it, or you can stay to wipe everything out. It's your call. There's an item box beside the throne containing 3000G, and another by the right wall that has 2000G.

A 9S-controlled machine will meet you on the next floor so you can just keep going and not worry about running into locked doors. There's a group of dismayed followers here and one of them sells items. Exit through the door nearby and start heading right. Keep going until you see a door where an access point can be found inside. Activate it and save before going back to the previous area. Continue right and you will start running into some exploding machines. These things can do quite a bit of damage on higher difficulties so watch out. Quite a bit further is a pressing machine which instantly kill anything it crushes, 2B included. Pascal however is immune for some reason.

Make your way passed this bit carefully while destroying enemies. Once you reach the end, hop up to the door and open the item box to your left for a Medium Recovery. Enter the room, kill the enemies and exit to the other side. More exploding machines will rush you as you climb the stairs so either shoot them quickly or jump over them to minimize damage. Further ahead, you should notice a break in the railing. Jump off here and make your way left along the topside of the pressing machine. In the room at the end is an item box containing Noctis's Engine Blade along with a Small G Luck+.

Back in the room with the access point, there is another door that leads deeper into a new area of the factory. Go right some more here then start moving up. The exit is to the right once you reach the top and you'll land on another pressing machine. The smoke makes it harder to see this time though so look carefully as you try to get across. In the next room, you'll find machines attacking each other. It's a case of machines killing fellow macines who don't share their beliefs. Whether you choose to help or ignore the defenseless is up to you.

Take the exit next to the pile of broken robots to proceed. Here, climb the stairs until you are level with the platform to your left. Jump to it then to the top of the broken stairs to find an android body you can harvest. There's an item box on a platform to the left of the broken stairs that I can't quite get to (I assume you need to air dash underneath the stairs) so hopefully you can figure out how to traverse over there. Continue right toward the next room from here. Activate the access point and save. Grab the Ranged Defense Up S from the item box here before taking the elevator to the next floor.

Move to the open area at the end of the bridge for a fight. There is no way you can damage the Goliath while the factory has power so focus on dodging until 9S completes the power shut down then you can fight back. Dispatch the thing quickly so you can move on. At this point, you have to trek all the way back to the factory entrance and what you witness along the way is pretty sad. The whole place can get really dark by the way so be sure t turn your flashlight on.
