How to play Hell Rush with Friends

Hell Rush is a PvP multiplayer that is played mostly against the clock. It's a normal Covenent Rank 1 game that is about 3 minutes per batttle, this time also includes card selection and buff entries so you need make fast decisons. To play PvP with your friends in multiplayer in Monster Train you will need to queue with them in the lobby at the same time. In order to do this you and your friends will need to click the 'Play' button under Hell Rush simultaneously. If you and your friend(s) do this there is a very good possibility you will see each other in the lobby alongside a bunch of other players waiting your turn to play.

If you prefer to play a private game of Hell Rush with just your friend(s) you will need to follow the steps below.

Step 1:

Navigate to the 'Multiplayer' menu. You will find this in the main menu just beneath 'Single Player'.

Step 2:

Select the right most option on the menu which is the 'Custom Challenges' and click 'Play'. 'Custom Challenges' in Monster Train allows you to make your own games and unique challenges.

Step 3:

Select the 'Create Challenge' option. This will take you into a menu where you can customise your challenge a variety of different ways so you can play Monster Train how you want.

Step 4:

If you now toggle 'Hell Rush' to 'On' you will be able to choose the Primary and Allied clans for the specific challenge, as well as the Mutators to spice things up. If you want to make things really horrific you can even boost the Covenant Rank to 25.

Step 5:

Submit your challenge. This is your last chance to edit the details so make sure you carefully check what you have entered before submitting your challenge.

Step 6:

Copy the deeplink. Click the button in the bottom right to copy the link, and send it to your friend(s).

Step 7:

You now need to start the run at the same time as your friend(s). To do this you click 'Start Run'. The game will begin when 2 people are in the lobby so if plan on playing with more than one friend they will need to join sharpish to get things going.

Note: Your friend(s) need to paste this link in the Windows Explorer address bar, or any web browser and enter the run command (windows+R) in order to open that run in Monster Train. If Windows does not know how to open it, you need to open it with MtLinkHandler.exe in the folder where the game is installed.
