In the post-apocalyptic Russia of Metro Exodus you will encounter various types of mutant creatures all intent on ripping you apart. Below is a list of these creatures along with where you are likely to face them and how to defeat them.

These huge winged mutants are dangerous creatures that can capture prey of any size from the ground. Stay away from them, remain hidden and choose alternate routes to avoid them. You will encounter demons during the winter, near the underground, the Volga, and the Caspian Sea.

These aggressive mutants have a territorial nature, they tend to be found in abandoned underground stuctures and falling buildings. They can travel great distances quickly, often running along walls. They are easy to kill if they are alone but as a pack they become almost unstoppable. You will encounter Nosalis in underground facilities and dilapidated buildings, mainly in the Dead City.

This devious creature spends most of their time wandering around in search of carcasses to feed on. They will run away if they are alone but attack when they are in a pack. You are likely to encounter lurker at the Volga and some parts of the Caspian Sea.

At first glance these creatures appear human, they move about in packs and their behaviour is similar to humans. They live in dark places and abandoned buildings and use the debris as primitive weapons. A stealth approach is needed to kill Humanimals, if you make a noise and they raise the alarm you run the risk of being overwhelmed.

This powerful creature is extremely dangerous and difficult to kill and if possible should be avoided. Most firearms will not bring, only the heavier ones. Its thick fur however makes it vulnerable to attacks with incendiary weapons. You will encounter the mutant bear in Taiga.

These are common creatures that move on all fours. They are ferocious mutants that roam in packs in the streets and tunnels. If they are not eliminated immediately without making a noise they will call for reinforcements. You will likely encounter Watchman during the winter, near the underground and Volga tunnels.

Although they are not mutant creatures wolves are still dangerous. This animal hunts in packs and should be eliminated immediately before it becomes a problem. You will encounter wolves in Taiga.

This armoured crustacean mutant lives near water and is very territoral and will attack when they feel threatened. Shrimp can be defeated by launching attacks with perfect timing. You will encounter shrimp on the autumn map, near the water.

Spiders will attack under the cover of darkness, launching attacks from cocoons, cobwebs, and holes. To clear areas infested with spiders you need a torch or fire. The only thing that spiders fear is light and will die quickly when exposed to a light source.
