Playboy Magazine Collection Ticklist

The magazines are a surprising addition to this game, but considering the iconic status of the games, and the genre, the pairing makes a lot of sense.  Here is a list of the magazines, in the order that they are acquired in the game, with Chapter noted.  I am also including the Playmate Number. You can find full details on where exactly the magazines are located within a chapter if you read the relevant chapter in our main walkthrough of this guide.

Deviation Notes:  The following deviations in collection take place in the game.

Playmate 46 -- According to the game notes it should be acquired in Chapter 8, however when you visit your new flat in Chapter 7 the magazine is already on the table, so there is no reason not to grab it then.  Note that it appears in the list and the walkthrough marked as CH 7-2 since it is acquired in that order.

Chapter Two

There are two issues in this chapter of the story, one of which you can only collect during the story so do not miss it.

(01) 1 of 2: Playmate Lari Laine - Miss May 1958

On the table at Joe's flat after you wake up from a hard night of partying.

(02) 2 of 2: Playmate Ellen Stratton - Miss December 1959

Inside the small shed at the Junkyard - make sure that you obtain this during the story as you cannot return for this one later (the shed will not be accessible!).

Chapter Three

There are five issues in this chapter. As the last three of these are connected to the story mission you want to be sure you collect them during it as otherwise you will not be able to get them!

(03) 1 of 5: Playmate Connie Mason - Miss June 1963

On the floor just outside of Derek's Office at the Port.

(04) 2 of 5: Playmate Sally Sarell - Miss March 1960

Found just outside of the door to Maria's flat - be sure you collect this BEFORE you knock on her door, right?

(05) 3 of 5: Playmate Linda Gamble - Miss April 1960

In the storeroom off of the hallway AFTER you disable the Alarm Box in the Federal Building when you are going after the ration stamps.

(06) 4 of 5: Playmate Susan Denberg - Miss August 1966

You find this on the desk at the Guard's Station in the Federal Building during the Ration Stamp Heist.

(07) 5 of 5: Playmate Ann Davis - Miss September 1960

This issue is collected from the office that is directly across the hall from the Director's Office during the Ration Stamp Heist.

Chapter Four

There are four issues in this chapter. Most of these are story-focused so you will want to collect them here, now, during the story as you cannot get them otherwise!

(08) 1 of 4: Playmate Dianne Danford - Miss November 1961

You find this issue on the floor in the corner just after the first major firefight in the mall as you are about to have you your escape from both the cops AND the Irish Gangsters.

(09) 2 of 4: Playmate Elaine Reynolds - Miss October 1959

This issue is laying on the window ledge across from where you found the first issue - be sure to grab it BEFORE you follow Joe up the short flight of stairs here.

(10) 3 of 4: Playmate Tonya Crews - Miss March 1961

This issue is found just inside the second building rooftop entrance after you complete the second major engagement with the police cops.

(11) 4 of 4: Playmate Connie Cooper - Miss January 1961

In the basement of your apartment building on your way back home AFTER the story mission has been completed. Instead of heading directly upstairs to your flat after you enter the building, instead head DOWN the stairs to the basement and pick this up off of the box in the hall.

Chapter Five

There are three issues in this chapter. These are story-related locations so be sure that you collect the issues DURING the story... Just saying.

(12) 1 of 3: Playmate Marya Carter - Miss May 1962

As you chase the fat man into the Distillery instead of following the crew down the stairs you want to head UP the stairs to the stairwell landing, where you will find this issue just laying there, waiting for you!

(13) 2 of 3: Playmate Kari Knudsen - Miss February 1962

This issue is located in the office to the left of the stairs inside the Distillery as you are working your way through the guards.

(14).3 of 3: Playmate Merissa Mathes - Miss June 1962

You collect this issue on your way out of the Distillery immediately after Henry asks you to take him to a doc he knows - the magazine is on the right side of the room here.

Chapter Six

There are three issues in this chapter. Obviously since you are in prison for this one these are all pretty much required collections in story because you cannot return here in free roam. Also note that you need to collect them AT THE POINT in the story where you actually can collect them - so we are very sure you should use this guide in partnership with the walkthrough - just saying.

(15) 1 of 3: Playmate Jan Roberts - Miss August 1962

Collect this from the sleeping man in the prison yard at the start of the chapter.

(16) 2 of 3: Playmate Mickey Winters - Miss September 1962

You find this between the shed and fence in the prison yard at the start of the chapter.

(17) 3 of 3: Playmate Laura Young - Miss October 1962

This one is less obvious - it is found sitting on top of one of the laundry machines in the laundry during the fight stage of the chapter.

Chapter Seven

There are four issues in this chapter.

(18) 1 of 4: Playmate Elizabeth Jordan - Miss May 1968

In the fourth floor hall (the one above Joe's floor) in Joe's apartment building at the start of the chapter.

(19) 2 of 4: Playmate Angela Dorian - Miss September 1967

Upstairs in your new apartment building - before you head to your flat head up and collect this...

(20) 3 of 4: Playmate Sharon Cintron - Miss May 1963

On the kitchen table in your new flat - a nice quick and easy collection.

(21) 4 of 4: Playmate Toni Ann Thomas - Miss February 1963

In the sales area of Harry's Army/Navy Store.

Chapter Eight

There are three issues in this chapter. Technically you may be able to return for any of these you miss but why take the chance? Collect them during the story play instead.

Inside the shed at the end of the chase as you deal with the greasers...

(23) 2 of 3: Playmate Terre Tucker - Miss November 1963

By the barrels to the left of the tunnel entrance as you are clearing out the greasers.

(24) 3 of 3: Playmate Victoria Valentino - Miss September 1963

Near the fire by the shed at the end of the greaser-clearing phase of the chapter.

Chapter Nine

There are four issues in this chapter. This is when you reach the half-way point for the collection and the story pretty much.

On the bar in the restaurant at the meeting that basically kicks off the chapter.

In the small pipe in the sewers you find just after getting a load of sewage dumped on you - ich!

(27) 3 of 4: Playmate Nancy Jo Hooper - Miss February 1964

On the floor of the dumpster room as you are infiltrating the meat packing plant and slaughterhouse.

(28) 4 of 4: Playmate China Lee - Miss August 1964

Found and collected in the large room with the butcher workstations in it.

On a desk in the office past the laundry area at the hotel.

In the corner on the floor two levels below the conference room - this is a short diversion before you head to the roof.

On the roof deck by the window washing platform before you head down.

(32) 4 of 4: Playmate Astrid Schulz - Miss September 1964

In the bathroom of your flat AFTER you complete the mission.

On the wooden walkway at the Construction Site you encounter immediately after having your escape with Joe from the pipe.

On the pallet at the far side of the building, encountered after going down the stairs,.

(46) 3 of 3: Playmate Kelly Burke - Miss June 1966

This is found and collected in the burning warehouse during what is widely viewed as one of the most difficult sections of the game.

There are four issues in this chapter.

In the Observatory just past the barrier that you break through, on the floor to the right of the barrier after you pass it.

(48) 2 of 4: Playmate Tish Howard - Miss July 1966

Found to the right of the entrance of the dome before you enter...

(49) 3 of 4: Playmate Gwen Wong - Miss April 1967

On the floor on the far side of the room - be sure to grab this prior to heading down the stairs for the confrontation.

(50) 4 of 4: Playmate Fran Gerard - Miss March 1967

The final issue is located on the floor inside the half-wall in the center of the room after the main confrontation....

More Playboy in the DLC

You have now obtained (collected) ALL of the issues for the base game. When you download and play the Expansion DLC Story Joe's Adventure they add an additional 19 issues to the collection, however those do not count for the main collection from the base game.

The main reason why we are coming to the second collection so late is due to the fact that at the time that the game was released Sony had negotiated with the publisher for a one-year exclusive distribution license for the first DLC expansion - Joe's Adventure - giving gamers for the PlayStation platform pretty much exclusive access to the content for the first year.
