That happened to me too. It was because the sim couldn't get to the stove. (a piece of furniture was in her way) I heard an "uh uh" from the sim. And yes, 10lp gone. So I moved the furniture, put her right in front of the stove, THEN clicked the stove and clicked on cake. A whole 24 hours later the cake is done.

To be on the safe side, when the cake was finished I did not tap on the cake until AFTER I requested a birthday. You tap have a birthday, then it says hey, you can't have a birthday without a cake! THEN I tapped the finished cake bubble and a big puff of smoke surrounded the baby and a toddler comes walking out of the nursery!!

U did the right thing now you just have to click on the baby and the option says have a birthday

Last time I checked the cake was on it's way. When I came back to the game after few hours it was just gone. Now it's says "You have to bake a cake ..."

It's best to be as careful as ever when doing the last finishing touches to your new born baby. You don't want the girl baby's name saved as a boy one. And also when Baking the cake. Make sure your sim is in front of the fridge before clicking on the 'make birthday cake button' then DO NOT switch your apple console off --just in case-- and keep checking if the time is decreasing or if nothing is happening at all. Then maybe your child WILL become a toddler

Just do it people may as well try, and you have to be on level eleven anyway. I am still waiting...

It's a problem. Once I waited a whole 24 hours for my cake to finish and then accidentally clicked on the cake. Lol! Anyway it's only five LP to make a cake so complete Goals, use your Pet, or this website to find Cheats for lp then buy the cake in the morning. Leave the game for he restof the day and over night. Don't click on the cake! Click on the baby. Press have birthday and your child will be a toddler or preteen depending how far in you are. Hope this helps. It shouldn't take ten lp off you the cakes only five anyway. But maybe it Changes as you get further on in the game. Make sure all the furniture is out of the way. I have a new cheat if anyone wants it :-)))

What a horribly scam being run by EA! I also lost LP on birthday cakes. Now I have to wait a while nother 24 hours and spend at least another 5 LP because of an expensive game flaw. Maxis and EA are reprehensible assholes! This is clearly a scam to get you to waste and then buy more LP!!!

That happens to me twice when it had 20 minutes left from the end the sim just walked away and it didn't give me my Life points back and there was no birthday cake and my friend did it and it works for her it's not fair

I baked a cake twice my first cake I baked before I had the upgrade to get teens and the second cake I started Baking after I got the update to get teens the cake started to bake and at 4hours left it just disappeared and I didn't get back my LP and my Sims who were at work and School all just came home before they were suppose to an wouldn't finish any tasks. I am past level 11 and I have a baby. My problem is that the birthday cake is shaded dark as if I don't have access to make it. When I click on the baby to have a birthday it says something about level 11. My ? Is how can I get access to make the cake for my Sims baby or get back to level 11?

Me too I baked 4 cakes and after 24 hrs lol the cake was gone. Sims freeplay is suck. Thank you for wasting my time. :(

To upgrade a baby into a toddler and you're above level 11, complete the Quest for the toddlers. To upgrade to Preteen, complete the preteen quest. Same with Teenagers. If you want to have a Senior, get the Seniors quest at level 21 completed. If your cake vanished, go to your History and delete it. Go back on the app. It should have reloaded and the cake should be there or your LP is back.
