Companion Guide

GreedFall is a massive open-world RPG and as you progress through the story and side missions there are several allies for you to make which will help you on your journey and possibly romance. The following Companion Guide will tell you everything you need to know about the five possible companions who fight alongside you and whether or not you can start a romance with them. How their conflicting concerns are handled will determine which of them are still your friends by the story’s end, as well as which of the game’s four main endings you will receive.

There are five companions in total; Kurt, Aphra, Vasco, Siora, and Petrus. Each of the five companions has their own set of 3 side quests which you can complete to earn bonuses and maybe start a romance. The only character that is not a romance option is Petrus. To start a romance with a companion you must complete all three of their quests where upon doing so will be given the option to invite them home with you and start a relationship.

Kurt

Your first ally in GreedFall is Kurt who joins you from the start. He begins with a two handed sword but is proficent using any melee weapon. His main stats are endurance, strength and agility. If you get a friendship bonus with him he will increase your Craftsmanship skill. Kurt is a romance option for Female characters only.

Quest 1: 'Missing in Action'

This side quest can be started as soon as you talk to Constantin at the palace in New Serene. After, Select 'Tell him that is was so that you could understand him better'.

Quest 2: 'Amongst the Ghosts'

Although this quest will appear in your log right after 'Missing in Action', Kurt will get the information he needs after 'Old Countries in a New World'. After, Select 'Tell him about a childhood memory with Constantin'.

Quest 3: 'Settling Scores'

This side quest can be started after 'Treason!' main quest, assuming Kurt survives the Coup (do his first two quests). 'Treason!' occurs once you follow through the Ancient Secret meta-quest, which starts after 'The Battle of the Red Spears'. After, Select 'Tell him you hope you will be a part of it. Then speak to him one final time, earn the Guardian of Love achievement.

Apfra

Apfra is a representative of the Bridge Alliance. Her expertise is firearms and explosives. To recruit her, visit both embassies a first time to complete 'Old Countries in a New World', and then complete the quest 'Scholars in the Expedition'. Aphra is a romance option for Male characters only.

Quest 1: 'Islander Knowledge'

This side quest can be started as soon as you finish 'The Battle of the Red Spears'. After, Select 'Talk to her about the two youths'.

Quest 2: 'Cave of Knowledge'

This side quest can be started after the previous one (you may have to wait 24 hours). After, Select 'Tell her that you feel as if you have learned a lot'.

Quest 3: 'The Linking Ritual'

This side quest can be started right after the previous one (you may have to wait 24 hours). After, Select 'Tell her you hope that you will be a part of it'. Then speak to her one final time, earn the Love and Botany achievement.

Siora

Siora is a representative of Yecht Fradi and is firmly rooted in her culture, supporting all activities that protect the natives of the island with the use of magic. Siora joins you once you get to New Serene, on your way to see your cousin. When he sends you out to speak with the natives she will join your party. Siora is a romance option for both Male and Female characters.

Quest 1: 'Find Queen Bladnid'

This side quest can be started as soon as you complete 'The Battle of the Red Spears'. After, Select 'Tell her about having to say goodbye to your own mother'.

Quest 2: 'Promises Set in Stone'

This side quest can be started after finishing 'The Trial of the Waters', which is after 'Suffering of Constantin' (after the coup in 'Treason!'). If you accept the bribe and double down when Siora calls you out, you will fail the side quest and she will leave the party. After, Select 'Tell her it seems logical, given their culture'.

Quest 3: 'The Queen's Farewell'

This side quest can be started right after the previous one (you may have to wait 24 hours). After, Select 'Tell her that you would understand if she had to help her people'. When you then speak to her one final time you will earn the Minudhanem achievement.

Vasco

Vasco belongs to the Naughts faction, he is the captain of your ship and is shrouded in mystery. He starts with a one-handed blade but also keeps a pistol. His main stats include agility, accuracy and endurance. If you get your friendship level high enough with him you will get a bonus to Intuition. Vasco is a romance option for both Male and Female characters.

Quest 1: 'A Name for a Family'

Can be started as soon as you talk to Constantin at the palace in New Serene.

After, Select 'Ask him if he has any happy memories'.

Quest 2: 'Family Reunion'

Can be started right after the previous (you may have to wait 24 hours).

After, Select 'Tell him that this encounter allowed him to assert himself'.

Quest 3: 'Forever a Naut'

Can be started right after the previous (you may have to wait 24 hours).

After, Select 'Tell him that you wish you could sail with him again'. Then speak to him one final time, earn the Love and the Sea achievement.

Petrus

Petrus is a missionary of the Theleme faction who used to be a diplomat and wants to become a cardinal. He is a magic user that specialises in both long and close-range combat and has the ability to wear heavy armour. Petrus will join your job after you do the main mission in San-Matheus. He will give you a boost to Charisma if you get his friendship high enough. Petrus does not have any romance options.

Constantin d'Orsay

Constantin is your cousin and the new governor of the Congregation's colony New Serene on Teer Fradee (the island you are sailing to). He will leave you temporarily when you come to New Serene. Constantin does not have any romance options.
