How to Defeat Rued in Assassin's Creed Valhalla
One of the more challenging bosses early in Assassin's Creed Valhalla is Rued. What makes this boss so difficult is that he is able soak up a lot of damage before he finally goes down and he is joined by his pet wolf in combat who will try to flank and attack you while you are trying to deal with its master.
You can though make the fight easier if you prepare for it beforehand by stocking up on fire arrows which you can always obtain from merchants at your settlement if you don't have a decent supply of them. Once the actual fight with Rued begins you need to focus all of your attention on his pet wolf. Taking this animal out of the fight first will make your life easier when you face Rued as you will not have to worry about being flanked. To begin with pay attention to its attack pattern and when it leaves itself open attack the wolf with light attacks to ensure you hit it, if however it does leave itself wide open for a heavy attack do so to deal more damage.
Once the wolf is down turn your attention to Rued by attacking him with the fire arrows you stocked up on. Providing you keep your distance you should be able to take him down if you keep peppering him with them. If you run out of fire arrows and he is still standing you should not have too much difficulty finishing him off with a few melee attacks.
