Adventure Mode - The Subspace Emissary

Latest update by Matt77 on Jan 4th 2014
Just like in Melee, there is an Adventure Mode that you can play through. There is a feature which allows up to 2 players to play through the Subspace Emissary. There are 41 playable levels (the Great Maze consists of 4 levels) in The Subspace Emissary with a great story line to go along with them. Throughout the levels, you meet new characters which join your team. If an unlockable character joins your team, you will unlock them outside Adventure Mode.

The story line of the Subspace Emissary is by far one of the best Nintendo story lines they've created. Many fighters can travel to a world. A world of trophies. A trophy is the normal form of each fighter. When another fighter touches the trophy stand of another fighter, that fighter wakes up into the world of trophies. But inside that world is a dark, gloomy, evil world, Subspace. It is said to be infinite, with one sole leader, Tabuu.

The storyline starts with Peach and Zelda waiting to watch a fight on a midair stadium . Mario and Kirby appear on the stadium and prepare for the fight. It is optional who you want to win the fight. Then the Halberd (from Kirby games) appears and lets out these purple balls, shadow bugs. These can take the form of an enemy, and can make countless enemies. The 4 fighters defeat the enemies. The Ancient Minister then appears and drops a subspace bomb in the middle of the stadium. It counts down 2 minutes.

Petey Piranha then appears behind Mario and shoots him into the clouds and locks Peach and Zelda in cages. The next part is optional. Who do you want to save? Whoever you want to save, you attack their cage. In the next part, Wario appears and aims to shoot whoever you didn't want to save with a Dart Cannon Gun. This will turn the fighter back into a trophy. Wario then takes the trophy and flees. Kirby and whoever you chose to save then flee the Midair Stadium just before the subspace bomb activates.

In the last part of the very last level, all 31 fighters are back to hopefully defeat Tabuu. He starts to charge up his final smash, which turns every fighter back into a trophy. But luckily, Sonic smashes Tabuu's final smash wings to stop him. The now 32 fighters then defeat Tabuu and all subspace bombs are deactivated. If you return to the stage map, there will be 3 incomplete levels. Go to all of them to find new doors where you fight a character to unlock them.

As you can see from only 2 levels, the story line and scenes in The Subspace Emissary are quite complex and unique. The Adventure in Super Smash Bros Brawl proves to be one of the best Nintendo story lines yet and I can't wait to see what Nintendo come up with for the Adventure Mode story line for Super Smash Bros 3DS/U.
