You need to go buy weapons from the guy at the Clam Lands Arena. Once you kill a monster with one of those weapons, they will be caught.

Go to the monster arena at the calm lands it's all the way to the right and talk to the guy there and say yes to helping him then you can buy weapons with the abilty capture then you get monsters by beating them with that weapon

Buy weapons from the Clam Lands Arena. Then when you kill a monster it will be caught. Simple.

Talk to the old man in the Monster Arena, and buy Capture Weapons.
Defeat a monster with a Capture Weapon equipped, and it will be caught.
