The most important thing to do when you're fighting Penance is to destroy both the arms throughout the entire fight as soon as they spawn because they use the attacks that make the battle really difficult such as attacks that cause statuses, the only attack that the main body of Penance uses is obliteration which causes slow. Put shell, protect, haste and auto-life on all your characters at all times, you could also have armour on each of your characters that have those abilities on them aswell, then just keep attacking penance and heal when you need to.
