I've done all of the above, and still can't check my mail! It just says that theres a problem and to try again later. Been like that for over a week!

You can only check the mail when it has a mail button. Which is every time your town upgrades to a more valuable town.

This happens when you have used too many cheats also it can make your sims not be asked to go to work/school i had to restart my level because of it and its also the reason they have goals like 'send a sim to work' so they know your not cheating

I got mail on it twice...some random stuff like uve reached the next level for you're sim...but twice I clicked on the mailbox n the task is still not complete. (the mailbox is they grey metal thing,opposite the trashcan,across the garden path)
Maybe it's a bug and we should wait for an update?

I just recently started "Sims Freeplay" on my I phone 4. Everything task that has been given to me has been handled accordingly. However, the last task that was given to me was to check my mail. I check my mail, but the task kept saying check your mail box.. I don't know if it was because it didn't register it or because the other sims mail box needs to be checked? Can you please help?

The game has recently been updated, before when the little icon came above the mailbox and you clicked on it it wouldn't do anything. Now however when you click on it it says that you have done that task

For mailbox problem uninstall game and before you reinstall it change date on phone or iPad to 1st January then reinstall it's the Xmas dates that are causing the glitch

You can only check your mail once every day,on any mailbox it will have an icon in a speech bubble above the mail box.when that pops up you click the mail box and you'll get rewarded money.

Um, I'm pretty sure you're supposed to click and receive the daily reward? I'm going to do it, but I got the money a goal before the check your mail one. You do it by clicking the cloud thing over the mailbox.

You have to update sims first, then collect the reward. Cause E.A basically prevented us to complete this goal :| to force us to update.

Once you have bought the ball you need to get it from your inventory and actually use it, it takes 1 hour

You have to wait until the mail comes and then tap it the mail only comes every like 24hours or something like that. Hope this helps!

Make sure you check all your houses mail boxes there should be a bubble above it which you need to tap

You will need to wait until a speech bubble pops up over the mail box with an envelope in it...once every 24 hours.

I used LP to skip the goal and the damned postbox lit up with new mail as soon as I hit the continue button after skipping the goal. Must be a bug.

Skip the goal or wait for your daily reward I guess. I'm on this too and I'm making all my sims (preteen and adult) do their hobbies for around 8 hours so that when that is done I will most likely be able to check my mail. - hope this helped

It's easier if you have game centre if you have it then login and add friends the more friends the higher the bonus you get I've got 32 friends from game centre and Facebook that play and my bonus is 3200 odd a day and it goes up even more I'll get you started add me on it: bakergirl98

To check mail there is a time when it's time a sort of mail sign will pop up on top of it meaning you have received mail.
