mr game and watch

I compleated classic mode and adventure mode with all 24 characters.

Completed break the targets with all the characters.

And I have 1018 vs play match total

And still haven't got mr game and watch is there something wrong or it's not vs play mactch total. If it's another vs can you tell me wich one is it and were to look for it in the game

Everyone says you need 100 vs matches and youl unlock him (also the beating adventure classic and targets) I did the same thing and I thought I had did something wrong but after I had goten to 1500 vs matches I got chalanged and it was mr game and watch, I don't know why but I'm starting to thing you need 1500 vs mathces.
