Hey, I'm at the start trying to get from Violet City to Goldenrod city, but there's a tree in the way. I've been told you have to teach a Pokemon to cut it but how do you do that?

There's a Farfetch'd in the woods that lead to Goldenrod city, chase the Farfetch'd so it's cornered I can't remember exactly what to do next, but you somehow give it to a man in the woods and he gives you HM1 (cut.)

Go to Azela Town and try to go through the Ilex Forest, BUT, you get challenged by your idiot rival. Beat him/her and go through. There's a Farfetche'd there. Chase it around, but then chase it backwards to this tree that can be cut, where a man is. He'll be delighted you got his Farfetche'd back for him and gives you the HM for Cut.

You need to get the squirtbottle from Violet City. Go into a house and talk to a lady that has alot of plants, she should give you the bottle. Go to the tree and spray it but take some pokeballs because it is a Pokemon that you might want to catch.
