I've been to the indigo platau but someone said that you can go into kanto cities, is this true?

It is very true. You can get the other badges there too. I don't remember how to get in though.
Once you beat the Elite Four, and go through the credits and everything and the game sort of restarts but nothing is lost. You start the game and you get a call from Elm, and he tells you to go to his Lab. He gives you a ticket to take ship to Vermillion. Go to Olivine and get on the Boat and from there on out you'll reach Kanto and play a whole other half of the game.
YOU MUST GO BACK HOME IN NEW BARK TOWN SWIM WEST TO VICTORY ROAD THAT SERVES AS A ROAD TO THE POKEMON LEAGUE THEN BEAT THE ELITE FOUR THEN YOU WILL GET A CALL FROM MOM OR PROFESSOR ELM TELLING YOU TO GO TO PROFESSOR ELMS LAB HE WILL GIVE YOU A BOAT TICKET TO RIDE A BOAT TO VERRMILLION CITY IN KANTO THE BOAT IS IN OLIVINE.

Defeat the Elite Four and Lance and then you will see the credits. Skip them and then play your game. You will be in your room where you started. Go to Prof. Elm's Lab and talk to him. He will give you a S.S Ticket or something like that to board a ship. Find the ship and then board it. Go into all of the places and one of the people say that there daughter has run off somewhere in the ship. Search the ship and when you find the girl go back to the person and she will thank you. Then the ride will end and you will be at Vermillion City in Kanto.

You have to beat the Elite 4 and Champion Lance after getting the 8 badges. Then Lance will show you to a room for submitting you and your Pokemon into the Hall of Fame. Then it will teleport you back to New Bark Town. He will give you ticket of a ship that will get you to Kanto in Olivine City. You will have to find someones granddaughter and you have to find a sailor's friend to do that. Then, you'll be in Vermillion City in Kanto.
Yes. After you beat the League at Johto, skip the credits. You'll be in your room. Go to Prof. Elm's lab, and he will give you a ticket to Vermillion City (the ship is found in Olivine City). Then, go in all of the places and someone will say their daughter ran somewhere in the ship. Find her and go back to the person. The ride will end and you will be in Vermillion
It is true that you can get to the Kanto cities. You first have to go to the Elite four and beat them. Then, once you get teleported to New Bark Town. From there you talk to Elm who will give the S.S. Ticket. You head to Olivine City and go to the docks, present your ticket to him and get on the boat. You have to do a little quest and after you finish that you get to Vermillion city. After that, you can explore Kanto to your heart's content! To get back to Johto, you can only go back on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I hope this helped!
