Pokemon Red is the version that has Growthie. Blue version has Vulpix, you will need to trade with someone with the Pokemon Red version. It is only were the games have a certain Pokemon and they switch them up so you have to connect to another gamer to complete the Pokedex to make the gaming that much harder.
