No never catch Missingo even if you are not going to put him in your pc it still coruptes your game. Missingo is a basic virus for your game please do not catch it. I once caught all 150 Pokemon including Mew,then I caught Missingo the next time I tryed to load my game it said no data so what ever you do don't attempt to catch it

Missingno is created by using a cheat device and something to do with the way the info was stored for each pokemon.
It has to do with Hex code... 256 slots allotted in the code for Pokemon, but there were only circa 150 Pokemon in blue and red... So the other numbers are other things... Bits of landscape, so I am led to believe, and other data... Which are referred to as missingno.
And it has to do with the name you chose at the start (when you are stuffing about looking for missingno) as to what missingno will be available to find in your game.
The rest of what I know is a bit sketchy...
There is a lot of info found around the place that refers to missingno and how to find and catch them, but it is seriously dangerous and can stuff a perfectly good game up.
Also, just for reference, newer versions of Pokemon, that had more than 256 Pokemon in them don't use hex code for storage... As far as I have been told, so they use a different system, thus negating missingno.

NEVER EVER EVER CATCH IT OR EVEN TOUCH IT NOTHING IT IS BEST TO RUN AWAY + you get alot of what ever is in the 6th slot. I HAD ALOT OF GOOD STUFF BUT IT SCREWED UP YOU CANT EVEN START AND SAVE A NEW GAME SO DO NOT DO ANYTHING TO IT!!!!

To find Missingno, talk to the person in Viridan City that teaches you how to catch pokemon. Then go and surf on the eastern shore of Cinnibar Island. DO NOT CATCH AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!! REPEAT DO NOT CATCH IT WILL CORRUPT YOUR GAME!!!!!!!! Kill it instead and your sixth item in your items will increase so much that the game cannot read the number of items in your bag.

Ok, what you do to get to Missingno. Talk to the man in Viridain City and make him show you how to catch a pokemon. Fly to Cinninbar Island and surf along the right side of it. You find stuff like L:123 Marrowak, L:132 Starmie, L:128 Missingno. Don't catch them! But if you beat the Missingno you get whatever is in the 6th slot. You can catch it but don't.(Already said it but second warning). It screws up your game and you can't do anything on it or save or start a new game. I haven't witnessed it but I heard it does that.

Do not catch Missingno, if you catch him you will see him as a "Bad Egg" in your bag. If you caught him, release him into the wild quickly, if it don't let you, just hope he doesn't mess up your game.
