How to View Your Estimated Data Usage in Windows 8

Although you can use metered connections to get the most of your bandwidth in Windows 8, at times you may want to know how much data you have used for a single browsing session. Here’s how to.

What to do:

  1. Press the Windows + C keyboard combination to open the Charms Menu, then click on Settings.

  2. Guide Image

  3. Click on your Network Connections.


  4. This will show the list of networks you are currently connected.


  5. Right-click on you wireless network and click Show estimated data usage.


  6. Now you will be able to see how much data you have used for the current session, it also shows you how long you have been connected to the wireless network for.
