How to Enable the Delete Confirmation Dialog in Windows 8

Published by SuperCheats Staff on Aug 26th 2013
If you have just switched to Windows 8 and find yourself constantly sending files to the recycle bin by mistake, it’s probably because Microsoft disabled the delete confirmation dialog, here’s how to re-enable it.

What to do:

  1. Right-click on the Recycle Bin icon on your desktop and select Properties.

  2. Check the box Display delete confirmation dialog.

  3. Try to delete something you will be asked if you really want to send the item(s) to the recycle bin.
