Valorant features a diverse group of playable characters called Agents, each with their own personalities and abilities and knowing how to use the different Agents to their full potential is an important aspect of the game. Check out our Valorant Agent Tier List to find out how each of the characters rank against each other.
Agent abilities have to be purchased from the shop. Each character has a signature ability by default and doesn't have to buy and their 'ultimate' ability is earned by killing the enemy or collecting the orbs from the map, which can take several rounds to accomplish. Each of the Agents belongs to one of the following four classes, each specializing in a different area.
Duelist:
Main damage dealers on the team. They should focus on using abilities to frag enemies in groups and get early eliminations.
Sentinel:
Defensive experts who specialize in protecting the teams' flanks and supporting team fights.
Initiator:
Specialize in challenging the angles of gunfights and giving your team the advantage when pushing positions on the battlefield.
Controller:
Controls the battlefield by blocking lines of sight and locking down areas for the team.
