Introduction

This is a review on a really exciting game, the Sims 2. The game is excellent, realistic and exciting. I have Double Deluxe which is the base game, Nightlife and Celebration stuff all packed in one. This game is recommended for all highly creative people ages 9 and up.

Graphics

This game has very excellent graphics that look very much like real life, although the animations for certain things (such as playing on a computer or painting) are always the same, which doesn't look completely realistic. The textures are very realistic, especially on buildings and objects. Unlike the Sims 1, objects aren't flat 2D cartoons but more realistic 3D objects. Also, water is semi-transparent now rather than opaque. Higher graphic settings are more life-like but can cause a lagfest.

Sound

Sounds are very realistic and well recorded in the Sims 2. The piano sounds just like a real one and vehicle noises are very good (especially the school bus). When a sim starts up a computer, the startup doesn't really sound like a proper Windows, Mac or Linux one but sounds great anyway. Sims' voices aren't exactly like what a human's voice would be in real life but I would give it a thumbs up! The sound of a toilet is just like real life, though the shower sfx could do with an improvement.

Gameplay

The Gameplay is exciting, fun and extemely creative as players create virtual people (called sims) and make families, build houses and even public places! Very interactive and real as sims have genetics, grow up, get married, get jobs, have children (and even grandchildren!) and eventually die of old age. The setting is based on USA as children go to school via the schoolbus, which is very American. Players can even name their neighborhood which can be renamed as much as they desire.

There are some unrealistic features though like:
-Alien Abduction
-Death by Satellite
-Death by Flies

There is no limit to how many generations sims can have and also, creativity has no limit at all.

Lastability

This game is so creative, it could last someone an extremely long time indeed! Unlike many games, this game has no end to it! It could take many years to get bored with a game like this. Even though this could last years, it is recommended that players should always take a break. Playing for an extremely long period of time can cause blindness!

Overall

Overall, this game is very much based on real life. It's so great that you will never get bored with it until the end of your life! If you are highly creative (like me) then you should really buy this game! It's one of the greatest computer games ever created.
