We have summarized the basic flow of things in the game to give you an idea what completes one full round in the game, and what to expect in the phases of every round. There is an extended guide over the Flow of Play over the 6 Rounds in the table of contents to give you a more detailed guide of what you can do during the rounds and each phases of the game.
Basic Game Flow:
1. As you start, the game automatically arranges the Scoring Tiles (for the six rounds), the player turn sequences, and starts the 1st round of the game.
2. All players will have to pick locations for their first two dwellings (3 for Nomads and 1 for Chaos Magicians) and starting Bonus Cards to put into play.
3. Players will enter the first action phase of the game.
The action phase is comprised of sequenced turns of players performing plausible actions in their end. Players will take turns performing 1 action at a time. At the chance that all players have no plausible actions to do, they’ll have to pick the “passing action” -- which will end the current round's action phase.
4. When the action phase is over, there will be a clean-up phase and cult bonuses will be rewarded. First, the Cult bonuses depicted on the current Scoring tile will be awarded. Each player with enough progress in the depicted Cults gets the depicted reward. The clean-up phase withdraws stuff that were put into play the previous round -- that won’t be relevant in the concluding round. This is however done automatically by the game. Players will also have to put back all Bonus Cards from the previous round and the game will prompt players to pick new bonus cards for the concluding round. Take note that all un-spent spades (of the previous round) will be forfeited and the game computes for outstanding victory points of all players. However, rewarded spades from cult bonuses can still be used in the following round.
5. The income phase of the concluding round will take place and distribute all resources that each of the players are entitled to that round (with respect to their structures and bonuses).
6. The next action phase will take place after the income phase.
7. The sequence of income phase, action phase, and clean-up phase will continue until the sixth and final round.
8. During the last round, there won’t be any clean-up phase and instead, convert all the remaining resources of players into victory points, and reward players with additional victory points for besting the land expansion and cult expansion.
9. The faction with highest victory points wins the game.
