SnowRunner How to get Unstuck Guide

As you haul your cargo from one location to another traversing harsh terrain, it is inevitable at some point your vehicle will get stuck in mud or snow. Not knowing how to free yourself from this situation so you can complete your contract could literally cost you hours of real time. Check out our How to get Unstuck guide to get some tips on what to do when this happens.

Engage AWD

One thing you should always do when you encounter rough terrain that could be tricky to traverse is have your AWD (all-wheel-drive) engaged as having all the wheels on your vehicle working will help you significantly as you try to navigate your vehicle through it. AWD uses additional gas so make sure it is switched off when you are driving on the blacktop or going downhill. This is especially important to remember when you reach the later maps in the game where fuel stations are few and far between.

Replace Tyres

You may want to consider outfitting the vehicles in your garage that have better stats for driving in snow and mud with engagable differentials and special off road tyres so that it will help increase traction and makes driving across those types of terrain less treacherous.

Below is a guide for the different types of tyres you can fit to your vehicle in SnowRunner and the effect they will have on the different terrain.

Feather the Accelerator

When the inevitable eventually happens and you do find yourself stuck in either snow or mud you should never ram the accelerator aggressively. Opening the throttle suddenly in this way will not help you, it will just make the situation worse. What you need to do is manually switch your vehicle down a lower gear and gently press on the accelerator. You need to experiment by starting off by gently feathering the accelerator and slowly increasing the pressure. Regardless if you are in a vehicle equipped with AWD or not sometimes if you move your steering wheel left and right it will help you to carve out a route that will enable your tyres to gain traction.
