Target Big Threats First

Usually, a small burst of high-velocity lead from a M41A Pulse Rifle is more than enough for taking down the regular Xenomorphs that attack you. However, there are Xenomorph variants that can withstand a lot more damage before they are taken care of, these can be identified on your radar as orange or teal blips. Make sure when you encounter these hostiles, you prioritize them as soon as they come within range of your weapons. In order to deal enough damage to take them down, you will need to aim for their weak spots or unleash your special abilities. It is crucial that you prevent them from getting amongst your team where they can cause havoc.

Stock Up on Gadgets and Combat Boosts

Although every ambush point in a level will have a crate or two nearby which you can grab for the useful gear they provide, you need to take into account you will never know what the actual contents of the crates are as the inventory is always randomized. In which case it is recommended that before you head out you visit the requisitions store in order to make sure you have gadgets and combat boosts that complement your character and don't have to rely on the contents of the crates.

How to Increase your Combat Rating

Alien: Fireteam Elite has a simple system for growing your marine and this is something you should strive to do as leveling up your marine unlocks slots in their skill tree, as well as new abilities and perks which will increase your Combat Rating. Some of these new abilities will be locked to a specific class of marine, while others can be obtained by all five character classes. As you only have a limited amount of space, you need to make the decision of whether you want your marine to be an all-rounder or specialize in a certain field. Always make a point of checking in with the officer in charge of supplies as he will often have perks that all five character classes can use providing you have enough currency on-hand to purchase them.

Shoot Alien Eggs

Make sure whenever you see an alien egg, you shoot it before the parasite inside spawns and latches onto your chest cavity for a few hours before explosively leaving it's nest. Alien eggs will spawn the dreaded Facehugger alien if you get too close to them and if this parasite does manage to latch onto you, it will result in you losing some vital health in the process.

How to Destroy Synths

Synths in Aliens: Fireteam Elite are well-armed androids that are capable of taking down a fireteam of marines from a distance using their precision aim. It is therefore essential whenever you encounter a Synth that you stay behind cover and hug nearby walls to avoid their attention. There are several types of Synths, the most dangerous ones being the heavy Synths who can take more damage and those armed with flamethrowers. To take down Synths, you need to switch to electrified ammo in order to disrupt their patterns and aim for the head.

Save your Credits for Better Weapons

There are two different currencies in Aliens: Fireteam Elite, these are your regular credits which you can redeem for perks, weapons, and the various attachments for them and Scrip. Scrip can be used for skins, gun decals, cosmetic items, and Challenge Cards. It will take you several missions before you have earned enough credits to purchase a gun outright from the requisition store. When you consider that your progression is individual to each weapon, it is recommended that you make saving up the required credits for a better weapon a priority. If you are not sure which weapon to go for then save up for the M42A2 Scout Rifle which is a heavily modified version of the standard M41A2 Pulse Rifle and makes the Xenomorph runners that are fall out of vents, climb up walls, and run across pip..

Level Up your Weapons

There are five classes of marines in Alien: Fireteam Elite and each of them can equip two types of weapons from a choice of four - rifles, close-quarters weapons, handguns, and heavy weapons. These weapons can also be customized by adding different attachments like muzzles, magazines, and optics. You can experiment with different loadouts in your home base aboar..

Have a Well-Balanced Team

When you begin Aliens: Fireteam Elite, there are four different types of classes to choose from for the main campaign (a fifth one becomes unlocked after the main campaign has been completed), and you should look to choose the one that is right for you. The Gunner is a well-rounded attacker, the Demolisher clears out entire swarms of cannon fodder, the Technician provides support firepower, and the Medic helps keep the team in the fight against the Xenomorph hordes. Each class has it's advantages which it brings to encounters and in order to have the most success it is recommended that you have different classes in your team, so it is well-balanced and gives you options when dealing with situations.

Use Elemental Ammunition

The ammunition your marines load into their weapons in Aliens: Fireteam Elite is lead, rockets, and proximity grenades. You can also load them with a few rounds of elemental ammunition, which can either be found or by purchasing the right consumables. The most effective elemental ammunition against Xenomorphs is fire, which burns through their defenses and deals damage over time. Against Synths, it is shock rounds as they overload their circuits, leaving them open to a counter-attack. It is important to remember that when you activate this special ability from your inventory wheel, you will only be able to load one of the two weapons that you are currently using, which means you need to think carefully which firearm you want to use.
