How to get Healing Items

Healing items are an important part of Nioh 2 as they can be used to avoid dying. There are several different items you can obtain and they each offer different effects. Check out our How to get Healing Items guide to find out everything you need to know about them.

Elixirs

The main way to heal in Nioh 2 is by using the elixirs which will restore part of the health bar when used. Elixirs can be obtained by killing enemies and looting their corpses, finding them as loot in chests, and as rewards for completing missions. They can only be used a single time so you will need to collect as many of them as you can during gameplay. You can increase your chances of finding elixirs with a Kodama Blessing called Healer Blessing, this is performed at a Shrine using Kodamas, the small, green creatures you find during exploration. Herbal Remedy

A herbal remedy will restore the entire health bar of your character and can be obtained by killing opponents, searching chests, and as rewards for completing missions. They are however rare and should only be used as a last resort.

Onmyo Magic

To use the Onmyo Magic heal options like Life Leech Talisman, Oasis Talisman, and the Rejuvenation Talisman you will need to build your character towards these abilities as you progress through the game. If your playstyle is focuses on magical casting these Talismans are wothwhile getting as they offer an abundance of HP recovery.

Carrying Healing Items

To begin with in Nioh 2 you will only be able to carry 8 elixirs and 10 herbal potions. The only way your character can carry more is to get certain abilities. Each extra item is placed in the storage and if you die while carrying less elixirs or herbal remedies than their maximum number, they will be replenished automatically from the storage.
