How to Unlock Characters

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order has 36 characters with more due to be released in the form of DLC packs which will feature the Fantastic Four, more X-Men, and the characters from Marvel Knights. Currently there are 10 playable characters that you can use at the start of the game. To unlock the entire roster you will need to either progress through the game to reach a particular chapter or complete a certain requirement. Our 'How to Unlock All Characters' page will tell you how to get each of the heroes.



Most of the heroes in Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order get unlocked automatically by simply progressing through the game. It is important to remember though that each and every character has their own level progression which means you will have to level all of them up independently.

There are four characters (Elektra, Magneto, Loki, and Thanos) that need a certain requirement to be met to unlock (bottom of the list below).

Venom
Automatically joins after you beat him in Chapter 2

Miles Morales
Automatically joins after Mysterio battle in Chapter 2

Spider Gwen
Automatically joins after Mysterio battle in Chapter 2

Ms. Marvel
Automatically joins after Mysterio battle in Chapter 2

Luke Cage
Automatically joins near end of Chapter 2

Iron Fist
Automatically joins near start of Chapter 3

Daredevil
Automatically joins halfway through Chapter 3

Wasp
Automatically joins near start of Chapter 4

Hawkeye
Automatically joins near end of Chapter 4

Psylocke
Automatically joins near start of Chapter 5



Nightcrawler
Automatically joins near start of Chapter 5

Deadpool
Automatically joins halfway through Chapter 5

Elsa Bloodstone
Automatically joins near start of Chapter 6

Ghost Rider
Automatically joins halfway through Chapter 6

Dr. Strange
Automatically joins after you beat his boss battle in Chapter 6

Storm
Automatically joins near start of Chapter 7

Black Panther
Automatically joins halfway through Chapter 7

Elektra (Secret Character)
Beat the final trial in the Gamma Infinity Rift, must finish Chapter 5 first.

Magneto (Secret Character)
Beat the final trial in the Psi Infinity Rift, must finish Chapter 7 first.

Loki (Secret Character)
Beat the final trial in the Sigma Infinity Rift, requires you to finish the story first.

Thanos (Secret Character)
Beat the final trial in the Lambda Infinity Rift, requires you to finish the story first.
