Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is the third installment in the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance series. It is set in an entirely different universe than the two previous games. In this installment Heroes from the Marvel universe unite to stop mad titan Thanos from collecting six Infinity Stones and unleashing their vast destructive power. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is an action-RPG dungeon crawler where you choose four characters from various Marvel families to traverse linear stages, fight enemies, and defeat bosses. Returning elements from the past games include light puzzle elements and a powerful team attack move that is unleashed when members of your sync up simultaneously. Take Advantage of Team Bonuses

Take advantage of the team bonuses your party can recieve when characters share an affiliation by builiding your team accordingly. Unlike the previous Marvel Ultimate Alliance games where all four party members had to belong to the same team you can now put together any four random characters and still get a good bonus. If there is a particular benefit you want to increase you will need to check the 'Teams' screen to see which party members fit. To view a full list of teams and affiliated heroes press Y at the 'Hero Select' screen.

Explore the Map

Following the dots on your minimap will get you directly from point A to point B the most efficient way possible. If you venture of this path and explore the map you will find an assortment of things ranging such as breakable walls, XP cubes, Iso-8 spheres, and Infinity Rifts. All of which are important for leveling up and unlocking new characters.

Focus on Infinity Challenges

When Nick Fury discloses that their is an infinity Challenge nearby you should focus on finding it immediately as the next plot point in the game may prevent you from backtracking which will result in you having to replay the whole level again to reach it.

Participate in Infinity Rifts

Infinity Rifts are optional challenges you will encounter as you traverse the map. You can participate in these at any time as long as you meet the Infinity Rifts's level requirement. Make sure that when you do come acros you tackle it as soon as possible as the minions and XP-rich bosses you fight there will allow you to level up quicker. If you perform particularly well in an Infinity Rify you will also be rewarded with XP cubes, Iso-8 spheres and alternate outfits for your heroes.

Upgrade your Heroes

Upgrades in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order are performed at the Lab using the money and Enhancement Points that you earn. The Lab can be accessed from any S.H.I.E.L.D. point and your team's stats can be upgraded by going to the Alliance Enhancement section. Although the upgrades are expensive you will find they are worth purchasing as they can make completing a chapter a whole lot easier. Replay Chapters

You always have the option to replay chapters when you find yourself needing to earn more XP or have missed a helpful extra item which is now making it difficult to progress. Replaying chapters also gives you the opportunity to upgrade underused characters or experiment with those which you have not used before. To replay a chapter you need to go to the main menu and choose 'Chapter Select' where you will be allowed to replay a chapter in any difficulty level that you have already unlocked. Note: The game can only support in-level saves for only one chapter at a time.

Try New Heroes

There are currently 36 characters in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order with more on the way in the form of DLC packs which will feature the Fantastic Four, more X-Men, and the characters from Marvel Knights. Make sure you try out as many different heroes as you possible to find out which ones suit your play style. Each of the character has different strengths and weaknesses which can be be viewed on each one's 'Status' screen.

Balanced Team

It is advised that when you put together a team you try to make a party that is balanced between projectile attacks, melee atacks, normal defense and energy defense. More importantly you need to make sure you are happy with with the way your heroes play because in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 they will not gain XP unless they participate in battle.
