Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include when to level up and boss battles. As well as these hints and tips we also have a mini-guide here which goes into more details on some of the tips we have below:
Certain enemies and many of the bosses are weak to specific damage types, so always look to swap in a character that is able to take advantage of them. If for example you are up against an enemy who is weak to piercing, swapping in a character like the Black Panther who is heavy on piercing abilities will make a big difference.
When putting together a party, take into consideration the attribute bonuses you can earn for forming a team that has heroes that share common ground. There are 29 different groups characters can belong to, these include Women of Marvel and spider-themed heroes. The number of members you have in your party of a certain group will determine the level of attribute boosts the team will gain. Team bonuses overlap and are cumulative, so a team can earn enhancements from multiple categories at once. Check out our How to Unlock Characters page to find out how you can get every hero in the game.
Before you attempt to tackle a rift or begin Infinity Trial, it is advised that you first check the recommended requirement. For example, if it says level 20 and your team of heroes are hovering around level 10 there is no point wasting your time with that particular challenge, instead look for something near your level. Trials can always be attempted later from the Infinity menu.
When you find yourself constantly dying and unable to progress, you may need to check out your menus for some upgrades. Use any XP cubes you may have to raise the level of your characters and if you have any Ability Points or Ability Orbs you may want to consider using them to buy the first Ability upgrade tier on your characters as this will reduce EP cost and let you use powerful moves more often. Check out our How to Level Up Heroes Fast page to find out how you can quickly level up the less experienced characters on your roster.
Participate in the Infinity Trials as soon as possible, once you have unlocked the rift grids you will be able to grind them to get plenty of useful resources such as XP which will help you push through the campaign chapters. Infinity Trials will also enable you to pick up characters, alternate costumes, extra shards, and Ability Orbs which will help level up your team and fine-tune their abilities.
Always assess your environment during combat as each chapter will introduce some kind of projectile explosive which you can pick up and throw at a foe which will completely change the tide of battle if you are getting beaten. Late in the game though, some enemies will only take damage from certain thrown items.
Knowing how to dodge (functions as a dash) and block, so you can avoid enemy combos is important in combat. You can dodge in any given direction by tapping L and if you keep the same button held down you will be able to block damage entirely. Make sure you master this maneuver, as many of the enemies you encounter will have consecutive combos that will push characters in a direction which may place them out of range of their abilities.
Once you get past the first two chapters you will be able to pick up ISO-8, these are special crystals that can found in the main quests and Infinity Trials which provide buffs and stat boosts to your characters. Try to pair the ISO-8 you get with the right characters, as doing so will yield some very helpful boosts.
Your hero's strongest ability is their Alliance Extreme Attacks, if you use them at the correct time during a boss battle is the quickest way to stagger them or do plenty of damage. Check out our How to Use Alliance Extreme Attacks page to find out how you can quickly take bosses down.
