How to Build a Base

One of the objectives of LifeAfter apart from trying to stay alive by gathering materials and hunting for food is to build a base for yourself to shelter you from the zombies that roam about everywhere.

Once you have completed the tutorial and left the town hall you will enter the Development zone where you will be able to build your own base. Before you can start constructing your base however there are two quests you need to do, in the first one you will have to craft a bow weapon and kill a zombie that is also in the area.

To craft the weapon you gather wood to make the bow and arrow shaft and stone to craft the tip of the arrow. In the second quest you will have to make contact with the radio. You will find the radio (Comms station) near the cabin and once you have found it you need to retrieve a home sign along with a few other objects that can be found at the back side of the cabin.

Once you have collected everything select the 'Bag' menu, followed by 'Ground', and finally 'Gear' and place them in the blue zone. You are now ready to begin building your base.

The best way to gather the materials necessary for it is to explore the nearby areas which you can access by following the paths away from your encampment. In these spots, you will find plenty of trees, bushes, and rocks that you can gather from. Also, exploring these surrounding areas will enable you to find a bed, set of chairs, and a Carpentry Bench.

As you gather the resources to build your base and start to construct its exterior and interior your Manor level will begin to increase. Higher Manor levels unlocks more base building items that you can place within your base.

How you ultimately design your base is entirely up to you. Two ways you can secure your base is to construct multiple walls and have a sniper's perch at a high point so you can take out zombies safely from above.
