Pokemon
Candy is an item that was first seen in
Pokemon GO, having now transitioned its way to this Mainstream Pokemon Game. Pokemon Candy is unique in how it plays a role with increasing the newest concept of Pokemon
Awakening Values, which, in the simplest of senses, helps increase a Pokemon's Overall
Stats. With the use of Pokemon Candy, you can have 200 Awakening Values for each stat a Pokemon has. This means that a Pokemon can be stronger than it usually is without these boosts, stronger than it has ever been in previous Mainstream Pokemon Games!
However, all Pokemon
Candy has specific minimum requirements in order to be used, as well as maximum limits of such. On top of this, as you get higher and higher
Awakening Values in each stat a Pokemon has, you will be required to use more and more Pokemon Candy in order to get just one
Awakening Value. For example, it could take more than twenty Standard Pokemon Candy just to receive a boost of one Awakening Value! To expand further, each type of Pokemon Candy stops being able to be used after a specific AV Value has been reached, meaning you'll have to use the stronger L Pokemon Candy and XL Pokemon Candy to continue to raise a Pokemon's Awakening Values.
Standard Pokemon
Candy can be used on a Pokemon at Level 1 or above, but it has an
Awakening Value Cap of 50
AVs per Pokemon Stat. In order to reach this 50 AV Cap, it will take 426 Standard Pokemon Candy per Pokemon Stat. L Pokemon Candy can only be used on a Pokemon at Level 30 or above, and it has an Awakening Value Cap of 100 AVs per Pokemon Stat. In order to reach this 100 AV Cap, it will take 218 L Pokemon Candy per Pokemon Stat (or 168 L Pokemon Candy if you maxed out a Pokemon's AVs previously with Standard Pokemon Candy). XL Pokemon Candy can only be used on a Pokemon at Level 60 or above, and it has an Awakening Value Cap of 200 AVs per Pokemon Stat. In order to reach this 200 AV Cap, it will take 545 XL Pokemon Candy per Pokemon Stat (or 445 XL Pokemon Candy if you maxed out a Pokemon's AVs previously with both Standard Pokemon Candy and L Pokemon Candy).
Because of this, should you want to max out a Pokemon's
Awakening Values using all three types of Pokemon
Candy, it will take 426 Standard Candy, 168 L Pokemon Candy, and 445 XL Pokemon Candy per Pokemon Stat for a total of 1039 Pokemon Candy. That means you would need 6234 Pokemon Candy to maximize all of your Pokemon's Awakening Values for all of its
Stats! Should you want to max out their
AVs by using only L Pokemon Candy and XL Pokemon Candy, it would take 218 L Pokemon Candy and 445 XL Pokemon Candy per stat for a total of 663 Pokemon Candy. That would still mean you need 3978 Pokemon Candy to max out a Pokemon's AVs for all of its stats by using this method! Finally, it you want to max out a Pokemon's AVs using just XL Pokemon Candy, it would require 545 XL Pokemon Candy per stat, for a grand total of 3270 Pokemon Candy to max out all its AVs for all of its stats.
In addition to Standard Pokemon
Candy, there is also Species Pokemon Candy, which can be specifically used on only one type of Pokemon Species. For example, only
Charmander Candy can be used on Charmander and its given evolutions. Unlike Standard Pokemon Candy, Species Pokemon Candy is much harder to find. Species Pokemon Candy can only be found by catching Pokemon, transferring Pokemon, and walking with a Pokemon within the
Poke Ball Plus. However, it is much more beneficial than Standard Pokemon Candy. You see, Species Pokemon Candy raises all the
AVs for all of the
Stats of a Pokemon by one point when used. This means that no matter the level of a Pokemon, it will only take exactly 200 Species Pokemon Candy to maximize every last one of its
Awakening Values!
