There are basically 3 types of resources in the game. Two of which are necessary to purchase stuff outside the missions (for skill upgrades and Special Items), and the other one used for purchasing upgrades and recruits within the missions. We'll list them below to get you a grip of how they are used and how they are usually obtained in the game.

1. Credits - the yellow colored triangularly shaped resources in the game, which are considered somehow the premium currency in the game. Credits are mainly used to purchase Special Items in the game, which acts similarly to user spells in other Tower Defense games. These special items can be carried in bulk, and up to 3 different types of special items can be brought in every mission. They range in actions helping you earn more in-mission resources, additional area of effect damage, and enemy de-buff as well. Their main use is to get you out of a difficult situation -- mainly a crowd control type of special action.

Credits are earned in a number of ways in the game. They can be rewarded by meeting certain requirements in the achievement list, earned by watching advertisement videos, or simply by purchasing them in bulks via IAPs.

2. Tech - the blue colored nut-like icons in the game. Used specifically to upgrade passive skills in the game in order to help you beef up your recruits, or earn some relatively helpful bonuses in your structures, or when certain actions are triggered in your missions. Use tech to upgrade specific skills in the passive skill tree -- that can be accessed through the wrench icon on the main hub. Each skill has multiple tier levels of upgrade, each of which doubles up on the amount of tech needed per upgrade. Skills range from those that adds up effectiveness of recruits in different ways such as adding range, speed, durability, and attack power. Skills are arranged in a skill tree-like manner which pre-requires you to purchase certain skills before unlocking other/further options.

Tech Points are rewarded every after mission, and are in some cases rewarded when earning an achievement in the game. There is no option to purchase them through IAP means.

3. Etherwatts - The stuff that you collect through mining the etherium deposit within the missions. Etterwatts is primarily the only resource that you are able to use within the mission. It is generated by your refineries when you obtain a deposit. There are also some instances in the game where you get to collect a stockpile of etherwatts lying around the map (light green floating crystal). To earn the resource, simply stand in proximity of the crystal until the gauge fills up. Additionally, you may purchase Special Items in the "Special Items Shop" in the main hub, that basically adds more etherwatts in your inventory instantly. Etherwatts can only be used in the mission, and are not accumulated whenever you have them in excess. There is a limit of how much you can collect -- basically dependent on the number of refineries you control in the game. you may additionally use a special item in the game that can extend your holding capacity to +50. Every resource left after completing a mission would not accumulate and add up to the following mission.

Etherwatts is used primarily to purchase your recruits, and avail the towers in the game, as well as their respective upgrades.
