Chapter 3 - Optional Exploration

- One of the NPC's (Aoba) has a request, namely to take out two Imperial Commanders on the Iscah Plain. You can find the Imperial Army Commanders just outside the town on the world map. As a reward you receive a GUARD EMBLEM.

- There's a shop as well, see the table below.

- After doing the request, the NPC dialogue changes, and some new NPC's will appear. Most notably is the entry of Atra, at the other end of the street. He is a Pyroxene collector; you can hand him any of the l'Cie Pyroxene you've already found. An other notable new NPC is the man in blue near the entrance. He offers to turn 40 Magenta Phantoma into "something more valuable".

- Outside the city, in the Iscah Region, you may want to collect 5 Thin Feathers by battling enemies. They are required for a request soon enough, back at the Magic Academy. Collecting them now saves you free time later on.

- TIP: Just north of Iscah, a Chocobo will spawn everytime you exit the town to the world map. This is an excellent Chocobo catching spot, since you can approach this Chocobo from behind fairly easily, sneaking up on it. Sometimes it will still get away, at other times it runs into the nearby rocks allowing you to catch it nonetheless. The rest of the times you might be able to just catch it immediately.

- You can also explore some other towns on the world mpa at this point. Keziah (in the Togoreth Region) has been liberated by Suzaku.

- In Keziah, talk to the man near the city's entrance, who needs to deliver 10 letters. The first (Kureshida) can be found on the west side of the first street (the double doors). The second (Aiona) are the doors to your immediate right. The third letter (Anna - Lena) must be delivered to the doors in the upper alley, on the left side. The fourth (Kisheria) must be delivered to the upper alley, to the doors at the far east. At this point you start to wonder why the guy doesn't just give you all the letters at once, or why he cannot possibly do this himself - but hey, game quest logic. The fifth letter (Tarasa) must be delivered to the upper alley, east part, first doors on the right. The sixth letter (Kakia) is delivered to the second doors on the east of the first alley. The seventh letter (Saikoto) is delivered to the far west dead end of the upper alley. The eigth letter (Madelynne) is delivered to the far east side of the main/first alley. The ninth letter (Maruga) must be delivered to the first doors on the west of the upper alley. The tenth and last letter is nearly unreadable. Head to the east side of the first alley and speak with one of the NPC's here, who helps you decipher the text. You can now deliver the letter to the gate of the mansion at the east of the upper alley. The reward for all this is RURIHA'S PYROXENE.

- There's also a shop at Keziah. See the table below for details. In general the items are worse than then ones at Iscah.

- In the upper alley there's a man with a request. He wants you to defeat 4 Flame Bombs at the Northern Corridor. As he mentions himself, the corridor is currently closed, so it will have to wait.

- You can also travel to Mi-Go in the North Togoreth Area and do some optional things there.

- There's a man with a request here. He wants you to defeat 10 Hundlegs on the Togoreth Plain. The reward is SUPPORT MAGIC 302.

- Furthermore, you can do a request at Corsi, which requires you to defeat 10 Aqua Flans. The reward for this is a HP GROWTH AGENT.

- You can do also a request at Aqvi, which requires you to collect a Blazing Fragment from the Corsi Cave. Better yet, if you haven't cleared the Corsi Cave yet (north of Rubrum Region), now is a fine time to do so. You'll face a lot of Lesser Coeurls and Bombs there. At the Trident Road you can find a MEMORY TAG, at the northeast dead end you can find a chest with MIMETT GREENS, and at the northwest dead end you'll face a Coeurl (as leader). You can find a CRYSTAL BALL accessory in a chest there. You should also have collected the Blazing Fragment (check the Menu under Request). The reward (back at Aqvi) is an IRON RING.
