Dying Light 2 Stay Human Military Tech Guide

You will be able to find Military Tech scattered around the map in both Old Villedor and the Central Loop inside crates from Airdrops. Military Tech is a resource that can be used to upgrade weapons and 'tools' such as your glider, UV flashlight, and grappling hook, improve items like lockpicks, and even repair your favorite weapons for prolonged use against the hordes of undead and outlaws. This Military Tech Guide will tell you how you can get more of this essential resource.

Military Tech is unlike other resources which can be easily found at ground level in streets, subways, and houses. To find Military Tech you need to look somewhere high like on hills or at the top of skyscrapers where it will be sitting in locked caches that were airdropped by the now-defunct military. Use your binoculars to find Airdrops which will be designated by a tan colored parachute draped over the side of a building's roof, a broken highway, or a natural peak. The best places to go to search for them is a high point such as a radio tower, windmill, or Nightrunner safe zone.

When you manage to locate an Airdrop with your binoculars, it will be permanently placed on your map and compass. You then need to claim your reward which can be tricky as Airdrops are always in hard to reach places that may require some death defying parkour, a winch to scale a building, or a glider to soar up to it. If the Military Tech icon on your map looks white, it indicates you are skilled enough to reach it. If it's red, it means you don't have the max stamina to make it yet.

Once you reach the Airdrop you will need to open an interior compartment in the crate to access the Military Tech inside. This is done using the GRE key, which is an item Aiden always has with him by default. Some Military Tech however will require an upgraded GRE key but you can get around this by having at least 25 lockpicks on you. The lockpicks are not consumed, they just indicate you have the required skill to open locked Military Tech. Aside from Military Tech you will find other useful items inside the crates which you can either keep or sell such as a weapon, or a new armor piece.
