GRE Detector Guide

One of the six Nightrunner tools in Dying Light 2 Stay Human is the GRE Detector and its main purpose is to help you locate all the hidden Inhibitors in the City. This makes it an essential tool as Inhibitors enable you to increase Aidens health and stamina as well as help unlock new skill trees. This GRE Detector Guide will tell you everything you need to know about this tool.

How to Unlock the GRE Detector

The GRE Detector becomes unlocked when you reach the 'Broadcast' story mission. To begin with you need to meet Lieutenant Rowe who you will find on the VNC Tower's 8th floor. Once you meet up with him you will get the GRE Detector. In order to use the GRE Detector you will have to activate the Radio Towers which can be found all over the city, on top of the tallest buildings. Once you have activated the GRE Detector you will receive a notification of all the Inhibitors that you come across within your vicinity. The locations of the Inhibitors will be marked on your map.

GRE Quarantine Buildings

Around Villedor and Central Loop there are six GRE Quarantine Buildings and each one contains one Inhibitor on the first and second floors and two Inhibitors on the final floor for a total of 24 Inhibitors to collect. GRE Quarantine Buildings must be entered from the roof and are best tackled at night when there are less Infected roaming around inside, and you are equipped with high-quality modified weapons. Once inside the building you need to follow the wire on the ground that runs across each floor. The GRE Key Aiden carries will tell you when an Inhibitor is close and you can use Aiden's scan ability to identify nearby loot. Keep in mind that the first two floors you can navigate using stealth but on the third floor there will be a horde of Infected waiting for you.
