How to Repair Weapons in Dying Light 2 Stay Human

Weapon repairs in Dying Light 2 Stay Human is different from the first game, in the sequel the weapons Aiden picks up have a durability meter that you need to keep an eye on. This how to Repair Weapons Guide will tell you how you can maintain a particularly powerful or rare weapon you want to keep.

As you progress through Dying Light 2 Stay Human battling the hordes of undead the weapons you have equipped will begin to wear down. Unlike the first game, there are no repair kits to find in the open world. In the sequel the weapons you pick up have a durability meter, the more this is filled the better condition your weapon is in. To actually repair a weapon that is near the brink of breaking you need to install Gear Mods to it.

Gear Mods are purchasable and unlockable blueprints that add special abilities to your weapon. If you install a Gear Mod to your weapon, the durability bar of that weapon will substantially increase so that it is in peak working order again. Keep in mind that weapons can only have up to two Gear Mods so you only have two chances to get that weapon back in top condition.

Remember when repairing a weapon that you are only restoring durability, adding a Gear Mod will not add to the weapon's total lifetime. This means to begin with, it is smart to wield a good weapon without any mods. Then once it has lost at least 50 durability points install the first modification. As you level up weapon quality will increase so you must decide if it is worth installing a weapon mod. Weapons are not as scarce as in the first game so expect to be constantly swapping between them rather than repairing them.
