Dying Light 2 Stay Human Weapons Guide
Dying Light 2 Stay Human Weapons Guide

Weapons in Dying Light 2 Stay Human are randomized, so there is no guarantee that a specific weapon will always be at the same place. During your adventure you will come across a myriad of weapons Aiden can pick up and use to fight against the undead hordes and they will be of different rarity, damage output and level. As the game progresses and your level ascends, the weapons that you find will become more powerful as they scale alongside you and the infected that roam the streets. This Weapons Guide will tell you how to get the best weapons in the game.

Main Missions

As you progress through the main story missions you will be given weapons as a reward. You can find out what these weapons will be when you complete the mission by looking through the 'Journal' tab on the 'Menu' screen after you hightlight your current main quest. It is not just an Artifact weapon or another powerful item you can get from completing the main story missions but also Parkour XP, Combat XP, and Old World Money. Below is a list of weapons you are guaranteed getting from the main story missions.

Blunt Weapons

Walking Stick (Mace)

Reward for 'A Place to Call Home'.

Scrapper Hammer (Hammer)

Reward for 'Unruly Brother'.

Gunhammer (Hammer)

Reward for 'Revolution'.

Stinky Pipe (Hammer)

Reward for 'Cheers!'

Slashing Weapons

Billhook (Machete)

Reward for 'Markers of Plague'.

Loose Screw (Machete)

Reward for 'Water Tower' and 'Orders'.

Shoelace Machete (Machete)

Reward for 'Now or Never'.

Blade Axe (Axe)

Reward for 'Cathedral'.

Heavy Duty (Axe)

Reward for 'X-13'.

Glaive (Axe)

Reward for 'Welcome on Board'.

Ranged Weapons

Pipe Bow (Bow)

Reward for 'Let's Waltz!'

Sports Bow (Bow)

Reward for 'The Baba X'

Paper Clip (Bow)

Can be found in Lawan's apartment during 'The Shoe'.

PK Crossbow (Bow)

Reward for Reaching City Alignment 4 with the Peacekeepers.

Opportunity Weapons

This type of weapon is found in boss arenas or other tough combat scenarios. They are projectiles that can inflict large amounts of damage or stun foes.

PK Cannon (Projectile)

Reward for Reaching City Alignment 2 with the Peacekeepers.

Side Quests

Although the weapons found in side quests are generally not on the same level as those found on the main missions you can still use side quests as a source to get good weapons in the Rare or Unique tiers. You may want to consider having a few in your inventory just in case your best weapon breaks or you encounter a difficult situation.

Vendors

Situated in safe zones scattered across the city of Villedor are vendors you can visit and spend your Old World Money with to purchase weapons, as well as accessories and consumables. The stock they sell scales with your Player Rank so the the higher you progress the better the weapons you will be able to buy from them. When you reach the end of the Dying Light 2 Stay Human story you will be able to get high-level Arifact weapons.

Military Convoy

Scattered throughout the open world and designated on the map as an orange box on a brown background is the Military Convoy activity. At the location you will more often than not find a tank, army truck, and ambulance you can loot. This is a source for high-level gear, but before attempting the lockpicking minigame associated with this feature, you need to make sure you first get rid of the infecteds that are swarming the area.

Airdrops

Often found on the rooftops of high-rise buildings are Airdrops. These are special chests that contain a high-level piece of gear, a piece of Military Tech, and a consumable. They are designated on your map as a box attached to a parachute, look for a tall building that has a parachute hanging over the edge as this indicates the Airdrop is up there.
