How to Recruit Monsters Guide

In Dragon Quest Builders 2 you can tame and recruit monsters, this How to Recruit Monsters Guide will tell you where you can find them and how to capture them.

You will be able to recruit monsters between chapters 2 and 3 once you have the recipe to make Monster Munchies. Monster Munchies are made by cooking a Frogstool (a purple mushroom) and Dry Grass. As long as you have Monster Munchies in your inventory when you defeat monster you will be able to recruit them to your cause.

Occassionally when you defeat a monster instead of disappearing a friend icon will appear above their head for about 30 seconds. If during this period you feed them a Monster Munchie they will join your party and live on your island. Each of the monsters you can recruit has their own unique ability. Below is a list of the diffent monsters and where you can find them.

Slime

Location: Furrowfield, Isle of Awakening (Blossom Bay)

She-Slime

Location: Furrowfield, Khrumbul-Dun (Sunny Sands)

• Can produce Oil using a Bonfire.

• When used as a mount, can jump two blocks high, and is immune to fall damage.

Chimaera

Location: Furrowfield, Isle of Awakening (Blossom Bay)

Hocus Chimaera

Location: Moonbrooke, Explorer's Shores (Iridescent Island)

Cosmic Chimaera

Location: Explorer's Shores (Rimey Reef)

• When used as a mount, can fly.

Muddy Hand

Location: Furrowfield, Isle of Awakening (Soggy Skerry)

Bloody Hand

Location: Explorer's Shores (Unholy Holm)

• Plays games with islanders, making them happier.

• Can craft items at workstations.

Walking Corpse

Location: Furrowfield, Explorer's Shores (Soggy Skerry)

Corpse Corporal

Location: Moonbrooke, Explorer's Shores (Laguna Perfuma)

Ghoul

Location: Explorer's Shores (Rimey Reef)

• Can make drinks at bars.

Healslime

Location: Isle of Awakening, Most Explorer's Shores

• Can serve drinks at bars.

• Will cast Heal in battle.

Hammerhood

Location: Khrumbul-Dun, Explorer's Shores (Sunny Sands)

Brownie

Location: Khrumbul-Dun, Explorer's Shores (Iridescent Island)

• Will destroy walls marked with a Smashing Sign.

Living Statue

Location: Explorer's Shores (Rimey Reef)

• Only one per visit, will not respawn until you leave.

Stone Guardian

Location: Explorer's Shores (Unholy Holm)

• Super Strong Monster

• Can produce dyes at Stain Extractors.

• Will imitate Stationary Statues.

Powie Yowie

Location: Moonbrooke, Explorer's Shores (Rimey Reef)

• Can convert ground tiles into snow using Ice Lollies.

Killing Machine

Location: Explorer's Shores (Laguna Perfuma)

Hunter Mech

Location: Explorer's Shores (Rimey Reef)

• Super Strong Monster

• Will till, plant, water, and harvest crops.

Liquid Metal Slime

Location: Explorer's Shores (Laguna Perfuma)

• Super Strong Monster

• Will play tag with you once per day, rewarding you with 100 hearts.

Golem

Location: Explorer's Shores (Sunny Sands)

• Only one per visit, will not respawn until you leave.

Stone Golem

Location: Explorer's Shores (Iridescent Island)

• Only one per visit, will not respawn until you leave.

Gold Golem

Location: Explorer's Shores (Coral Clay)

• Super Strong Monster

• Can convert ground tiles into sand using Terraforma Tiles.

• Will draw aggro for you in battle.

• When used as a mount, can punch through walls.

Great Sabrecub

Location: Explorer's Shores (Blossom Bay)

Great Sabrecat

Location: Explorer's Shores (Soggy Skerry)

• Super Strong Monster

• When used as a mount, can run quickly and double jump.
