How to use Showdown Mode in Desperados 3

Desperados 3 is a tactical real-time isometric stealth game where you are given control over a five playable characters and have to make a series of choices in order to complete missions. There will instances during the game where it will need more than one character to execute your master plan and this is where Showdown Mode will help you. Check out our How to use Showdown Mode guide to find out how you can use this feature to your advantage.

Showdown Mode is a feature in Desperados 3 that is activated by pressing the Shift key on the PC or 'Up' on the d-pad on PS4 or Xbox One and doing so will freeze gameplay. Now that the action has stopped you will be able to plan out a perfectly synchonised attack involving multiple characters from your group. Basically when you enter Showdown Mode you will be able to assign commands to members of the group who will then carry out your orders in unison when the game is resumed. Showdown Mode has plenty of potential and should be used as much as possible especially whenever you encounter a situation that will need more than one member of the group to overcome.

Once you have execute a plan using multiple characters there will be a cooldown on most of their abilities but Showdown Mode allows you to cue up your next attack ahead of time so you can use it when the time is right. Showdown Mode lets you incrementally fast forward almost frame by frame until you have characters in the right position so everthing is perfectly placed before you spring your plan. Take advantage of Showdown mode whenever possible, it is particularly effective when used to simultaneously dispatch multiple enemies at once or for luring an enemy close to another character so they can perform the takedown on the target. You can even have some of your characters run interference to give the rest of the party some breathing room while they quietly kill some guards. Showdown Mode will also reward you for the type of attack you plan and perform. The more creative it is the higher the rewards you get. Just make sure you save before trying anything too fancy unless you want to get someone killed and lose some progress.
