10 Big Issues With Pokemon GO

Sylveon

As like the concept of Mega Evolutions, another thing Niantic will have to figure out when the 6h Generation does eventually come to Pokemon GO is how players will evolve into Sylveon, yet another of the many Eeveelutions. At the present time, there are five Eeveelutions in Pokemon GO: Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon and Umbreon. Outside of using the Nickname Trick that works on all Eeveelutions only once, each Eeveelution has another way to evolve Eevee into each of its evolutions. When it comes to Vaporeon, Flareon and Jolteon, Eevee will simply evolve into one at random after using the Nickname Trick for each. To evolve Eevee into Espeon or Umbreon, you must actually walk your Eevee for 10km as your Buddy Pokemon before evolving it. If you do this technique, your Eevee will evolve into Espeon during the day or Umbreon during the night.

Now that Weather plays a role in Pokemon GO, it’s pretty obvious that Eevee will be able to eventually evolve into Leafeon and Glaceon when done in their corresponding weather: in order to evolve into Glaceon, Eevee will clearly need to be evolved during Snowy weather; in order to evolve in Leafeon, however, Eevee will most likely need to evolve during Sunny or Clear Weather. Simple enough, right?

But when it comes to Sylveon though, it’s an entirely different story. In the Mainstream Pokemon Games, Eevee can only evolve into Sylveon when it knows a Fairy Type Move AND it has a Level 2 Bond with its trainer in Pokemon Refresh. Since Pokemon Refresh doesn’t exist in Pokemon GO and since Eevee presently can’t learn a Fairy Type Move, it’s clear Niantic will have a few questions to answer when it comes to Sylveon. If they way an easy solution, they can merely have Eevee learn a new Fairy Type Attack, requiring it to know said move in order to evolve into Sylveon. They could make things a little more complex than that by requiring some sort of Buddy Distance as well.
