10 Big Issues With Pokemon GO
Alternate Forms
As like Arceus and the given Mega Evolutions, it would be a safe bet to assume that virtually all Pokemon that have alternate forms could cause trouble for Niantic in regards to Pokemon GO in the foreseeable future. Some Pokemon, like Giratina and Shaymin, require a special item for them to change for forms, while even some other Pokemon, like Raichu and and Wormadam, need no such thing to have their given alternate forms (Alolan Form when it comes to Raichu). Outside of Unown and Castform, there are no other Pokemon (not including the Holiday Themed Pikachu Evolution Chain) that have alternate forms. However, unlike the other Pokemon mentioned with alternate forms, these two Pokemon have no change whatsoever to their stats.
Like we said with Arceus, it will be something to see how Niantic approaches these given alternate forms. They could do as we mentioned with Arceus and the Mega Evolutions, having a Pokemon permanently remain in the form it is found in. If you encounter a Shaymin in its Flying Form, it would stay in this form no matter the case in this given scenario. This would make sense for all Pokemon with alternate forms, especially the ones that doesn’t require an item to change into said forms. For the ones that do, however, Niantic could always fall back on creating and introducing more items to Pokemon GO. Luckily for Niantic, they don’t really have to be concerned with this until the 4th generation is finally set to be released.
