Top 10 Scariest Pokemon
#7 - Honedge
Up next is Honedge, the Sword Pokemon. Much like the previous two Pokemon (Yamask and Drifloon), Honedge became a Pokemon because of wandering spirits. Before this, Honedge was simply a sword. And almost exactly like Yamask and Drifloon, it will harm people.
Honedge's Pokedex Entries from Pokemon X and Y (duplicated in Pokemon OmegaRuby and Alpha Sapphire) read as, "Apparently this Pokémon is born when a departed spirit inhabits a sword. It attaches itself to people and drinks their life force. If anyone dares to grab its hilt, it wraps a blue cloth around that person's arm and drains that person's life energy completely."
To sum that up, Honedge came to be because of wandering spirits of dead people or Pokemon, and instead of settling for a balloon or a face searcher, it decided to inhabit a sword. From there, it goes on a killing spree to become stronger. Sometimes it's nice, and just attaches itself to people to drain their life. At other times, and obviously the more horrific way, it wraps its cloth around the person (much like a snake with its prey) and sucks their life. Either way, it's going to kill whoever it chooses. "Drains that person's life energy completely" is just a nice way of saying it kills them. After doing the horrendous deed, it probably chops its victim up into bits in order to get rid of the evidence. Yeah... Terrifying... And if this thing chooses you as its next victim, you don't have a shot of escaping. Honedge's Ability is No Guard, which means it never misses. Yep... You're screwed...
If that's not bad enough, Honedge eventually evolves (probably after killing enough people and obtaining enough life energy) into Doublade, who is set on cutting its victim. So, in a sense, it evolves from Cell into Freddie Cruger. There's just no winning with this thing.

Well, Gengar will still be my favorite pokemon no matter what. ;) Second fav is Gastly, and next fav is Haunter. (And I love how Wikipedia says Gengar is popular with males. I'm female. ^_^)
But Pokedex entries can't describe every individual pokemon's behavior. Gastly in "The Tower of Terror" episode, the Gastly in "The Ghost of Maiden's Peak," and Officer Jenny's Gastly all had different behaviors and personalities. It's like how if pokemon could write a pokedex entry of human beings, they might say something like "Human beings rob, murder, torture, and many other things I would prefer not to say." But clearly not all human beings do that. Just like Ash's friend Haunter didn't have any desire to lick Ash or his friends to death. The "Tower of Terror" episode Gengar was definitely a lot friendlier and more benign than the Gengar in "The Ancient Puzzle of Pokemopolis" too.
But aside from these things, this article was fun to read. ^_^
Hypno can be FRIENDLY!!!!!!!! If he can eat your dreams he can also eat your nightmares. Which is good. And here's a sneak peak of my list. Scariest Pokemon ever:Darkrai
This list totally needs Darkrai...
Yep.
in the original Japaneses version it doesn't say Dusknoir takes people to the "spirit world" it say it takes them to the UNDERWORLD.
No Darkrai? Dude he feeds off people's nightmares and he can do that from 4 miles away, also no giratina but these pokemon are horrifying. And why is spoink in the mentions????
Spoink isn't a Pokemon that didn't make the cut. Splint is downright NOT scary
