10 Great Remakes that Deserve Another Remake

5. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes was a wonderful remake of the original Metal Gear Solid. Classic or not, Metal Gear Solid had some problems with it. The graphics look pretty terrible nowadays (and even a couple years after its release), and some of the gameplay elements can come off as clunky and obtuse. There's no doubt that the original game had some revolutionary gameplay elements and an intriguing (though dense) tale, but it was far from perfect.

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes took the gameplay enhancements from the sequel Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and superimposed them on the original game, and upgraded the graphics and added some new scenes to boot. The Twin Snakes made for a much smoother experience of Metal Gear Solid.

The thing is, though, that it was released on the GameCube. As a result, the game is more or less ignored by the general fandom, as the vast majority of Metal Gear Solid titles were released on Sony and Microsoft consoles. It also makes it difficult for The Twin Snakes to be re-released in one of the many Metal Gear Solid compilations, as it simply isn't compatible with the hardware on hand. Konami should really give the original Metal Gear Solid another Twin Snakes-esque treatment, even if it's only to rework the port to work with the PlayStation and Xbox, as the remake is a far more enjoyable experience than the original game itself.
