10 Great Remakes that Deserve Another Remake

6. Skies of Arcadia Legends

Skies of Arcadia, like a few of the RPGs following it on this list, happens to be a relatively popular game amongst the hardcore RPG crowd, but is otherwise ignored by the general gaming audience. The original Dreamcast version of the game offered an interesting world full of Sky Pirates… and who doesn't want to be a Sky Pirate? In addition, the game's battle system managed to be engaging (albeit a bit slow) with relying on different elements and attacks to properly defeat enemies.

The GameCube port, Skies of Arcadia Legends, brought the RPG to a slightly wider audience, as Sega did with many of its first party games after they dropped out of the console market. The game was mostly a port, but it did offer a small additional story that yielded a new playable character.

The main problem with Skies of Arcadia nowadays, aside from its limited console options, is some of its outdated design choices. Random battles are pretty frequent, and coupled with the battle system, can really slow down the pace of the game. Also, depending on which version you pick up, there can also be some odd loading times, slowing down the pace even more.

Skies of Arcadia really needs an overhaul, and an honest-to-true remake. With a few modern sensibilities in mind (maybe an auto-battle option, and a lower encounter rate in the sky) and a graphical upgrade, the game is sure to wow a new generation of gamers that are tired of the same plotlines and worlds from their JRPGs.
