Top 10 Best Game Reveals Of The 2014 Summer

1. Xbox One Limited Edition Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Bundle

This is likely going to catch a lot of people off-guard, but hear us out: When Microsoft announced a special console based on Call of Duty (CoD) at Gamescom, a lot of people just saw past it in the grand media machine of the CoD brand, but this is one of the best moves from the company yet. Xbox One isn't exactly struggling right now, but it could use a boost and what's a better push than a billion dollar franchise? A rarity of this magnitude could be a tremendous benefit for both companies trying to build an audience.

First off, Microsoft can start bringing in new customers by droves. Limited editions have tremendous appeal. The Titanfall bundle has proven that people will rush to a prized hyped item like this and that game didn't have the vast numbers that Call of Duty does. Soccer moms and all their nieces and nephews are down for some CoD. It's a giant market that's suddenly shopping a lot more towards one specific direction. Furthermore, the company can ensure that the multiplatform release becomes instantly more successful on their platform, which equals reverberating bragging rights.

Activision can take advantage of this as well. Not only are they likely taking in a nice sum for the branding deal alone, but they can also see facilitated sales. While Call of Duty titles may have lost some of their luster, people on the fence that weren't planning on grabbing the game yet were considering getting a new console can be swayed by this shiny trinket. It's such simple genius.

It doesn't hurt that consumers are rewarded for their hard-spent $499 either. The console pack goes into great detail to make the machine look as unique as possible, much more than any previous bundle. Detailed decals are plastered across all corners of the Xbox One and controller to really stand out. A lesser applicable Kinect is replaced for a larger 1TB hard drive, which also winks at gamers to download more titles. Hell, it's such an exclusive design that it may even turn a few of those obstinate haters. Now, that's powerful.
