Top 10 Sports Games of All-Time

7) Nintendo World Cup

There have been a lot of well received soccer games released over the years but none come close to being as fun as Nintendo World Cup for NES was. Nintendo World Cup used the same graphics engine as River City Ransom. In effect, it's just River City Ransom with a soccer ball. There weren't any rules so mercilessly slide tackling and ramming opponents with your shoulder until they were literally knocked out cold was a legitimate strategy. The game included all the basics of soccer such as corner kicks and headers but also included several super kicks which would allow the ball to sometimes defy the laws of physics and score no matter what the goaltender tried to do to stop it. Nintendo World Cup obviously isn't the most realistic soccer game out there but this is what makes it so enjoyable for both fans and non-fans of the sport.
