8) Ice Hockey
Ice Hockey for the NES just had to make the list. Most people remember this game for having the 'fat guy, skinny guy, and average guy.' Perhaps the most unique feature of Ice Hockey is that players could customize the physical stature of their team by mixing and matching large, average, and skinny players. Just like in real life, each body shape had its own advantages and disadvantages. Skinny guys were the fastest and made for good face-off men while fat guys were slow but helped to serve as enforcers. Average guys were just average at everything.
Everybody still has an opinion on what the best combination is. It's not an NHL game so there are no teams or recognizable players on the roster. The game instead features six international teams including the United States, Canada, and the Soviet Union. Ice Hockey was incredibly simple but that is what made it so fun. Anybody could pick up and play it with a low learning curve. Even your parents!
