Which Character Should I Unlock First

Valorant is a complex shooter that has plenty of weapons and a lot of intricate mechanics which you will need to get familiar with if you want to be successful. It is therefore advised that when you first start playing the game you select a character that is easy to use in order to learn the basic mechanics. Once you you feel comfortable with how things like aiming and shooting work you can then focus on getting better with the abilities of your chosen character. One of the best Agents in Valorant that lends themselves well to helping you learn how to play the game is Sage.

Sage is a monk healer from China and the only 'support' agent in Valorant. Sage's abilities are mostly focused around defense, she is able to create safety for herself and her team wherever she goes by throwing up a wall to block an area and fend of forceful assaults. Sage also has healing and resurrection abilities that enable her to revive fallen friends. These abilities which are listed below in more detail make Sage a valuable asset in any team.

Barrier Orb

Creates a solid wall, Sage decides the angle of the wall. It can be destroyed.

Slow Orb

The orb detonates upon landing creating a field that slows down players. It affects both allies and enemies, it also reveals enemies through the sound of footsteps.

Healing Orb (Signature Ability)

Actives a heal-over-time effect on Sage or her allies.

Resurrection (Ultimate Ability)

Sage resurrects a dead ally with full health.

How to use Sage

When you and your team are moving through a map use Sage's Barrier Orb to put the wall up anywhere that cuts off the sightlines of enemy players. Whether your team is defending or attacking you should be using Sage's healing and resurrection abilities whenever an ally takes damage and falls back. Revive as often as you can, but make sure that the round you are using it on seems winnable. Make sure you always use Sage's Barrier Orb to put up a wall as cover when you are trying to revive an ally as your teammate won’t be able to move when they are first ressurected.
